CAUSE AND EFFECT

CAUSE AND EFFECT

A.    Understanding Cause and Effect
Cause and effect is a text that writes about the analysis of a writer to provide a learning that has several causes and consequences. Because the analyzed may be two or more and the other is the result. Cause and effect usually exists in academic writing (academic writing) rather than in writing kraetif (creative writing). Often the author requires a clear analysis to determine the cause and effect for the authors to avoid errors in the preparation.

B.     Generic Structure

Cause and effect also has a generic structure:
1.      The order of cause and effect must have topic sentence (main sentence / subject) which will
be discussed about cause and effect
2.      Supporting sentences of cause and effect
3.      Concluding sentence of cause and effect

C.     Language Forms
1.      Jordan (1999) summarizes the language forms of cause and effect as follows:

Tenses used flesibel or can use any tenses based on time of incident: can use present, past,
        or future (future)
2.      The composition of the sentence can be:
        A.    X conveys Y (with active verb)
        B.     X is caused by Y (with passive verbs)
3.      Sentences that you explain / explain can use active voice or passive voice.
4.     The transition in cause and effect includes: causes, result, due, because, because of, as a
        result, consequently, etc.
5.      The verbs that can be used in the core statement are cause, effect, result, etc.
6.      Topic can be created by:
A.     The existence of several causes (why) why ..
B.     The existence of some effect (effect) of ..
C.     Researchers examine that there ...
7.      Using a third-person perspective.

EXAMPLE :

Cause And Effect Of Acid Rain

1. Understanding Acid Rain
Understanding acid rain is rain that has a low acidity (pH) is low on each drop of water. Normally the rain in general has a pH of 5.6 so we can call that rain with a pH level <5.6 means it's acid rain. Recent studies have shown that the pH of rain has changed from 6 to 4 due to the amount of exhaust gases that cause acid rain. These acid-causing gases are generally generated by natural disasters (volcanic eruptions) and ulah or from human hands (such as motor vehicle fumes and industry)
Research on the ice sheet shows the pH of rain has changed from 6 to 4 occurred due to the amount of exhaust gases that trigger acid rain with pH up to 2.4 (pH of vinegar). Acidic acid-generating gases are produced by nature (volcanic eruption and biological soil) and humans (motor vehicle fumes and industry).
The gases above will then react with rain to form acid. Acid rain is very destructive because it can kill the plant buds. If the shoots can not grow to eat there will be no life cycle on the plant. The soil can also become acidic, the metals easy to rust and also human health will be disrupted.

2. Causes of Acid Rain

The occurrence of acid rain is certainly not without cause, there is a certain cause behind it. As mentioned earlier, the greatest causes of acid rain are from natural disasters (volcanic eruptions) and human handicrafts (motor vehicle fumes and industries). Therefore, the active role of all parties is needed so that the danger of this acid rain can be overcome, for example, people use the tools (machine or environmentally friendly vehicles), the government socializes the movement to love the environment, and so on. Because the main cause of acid rain is industrial gas and motor vehicles should be used more environmentally friendly machinery because it produces less smoke containing sulfur, nitrogen and carbon. For the control of these three materials is usually done on the industrial chimney by electrolysis process so that this element will not fly into the air but clot and far to the bottom of the chimney

.3. Impact of Acid Rain
This acid rain greatly affects the life of all living beings on earth. For the impacts that acid rain can cause include:

A. Human Health
Acid rain that contains high enough acid levels can cause heat
.B. Vegetation
SOx is toxic to plants because it causes reduced growth at concentrations> 0.1 ppm. There are only a few plants that can tolerate acid soils.
C.  Building
Acid rain causes erosion of buildings made of limestone and marble. The structure of iron and steel quickly becomes damaged if exposed to acid rain
.D. Water In Nature
Aquatic organisms may be sensitive to the effects of acid rain. Lake identification is a problem encountered in areas with granite. Limestone lake naturally has a buffer that can neutralize the effects of acid rain.

E. Increasing Concentrations of Metal In Water
Metal compounds often form when metals contained in rocks form salts and sulfuric acid. The metal may have toxic properties for humans.

How to minimize the occurrence of acid rain? And how does the chemical reaction of acid rain occur? What compound is produced?

The process of acid rain formed by chemical process:

      S (s) + O2 (g) → SO2 (g)

      2SO2 (g) + O2 (g) → 2SO3 (g)

      SO3 (g) + H 2O (l) → H 2SO4 (aq)

There are at least 5 attempts to overcome the occurrence of acid rain include:
      1. Use fuel that has a low sulfur content.
      2. Can control contamination in case of burning.
      3. Can apply 3R ie Reuse, Recycle and Reduce.

The solution we can take is to evacuate if somewhere acid rain occurs. Because acid rain can lead to inhibition of human life processes

    1. Basically sulfur dioxide (SO2) and nitrogen oxide (NOx) gases are harmful to human health. The two gases will react in the air to form sulfates and nitrates in the form of fine particles that can enter inhaled into the human respiratory tract, even fine particles of sulfate and nitrate can enter into the indoor room.

  6. hii yulinda, How to reduce the adverse effects of acid rain?

    1. Use fuel that has a low sulfur content. Because it is necessary to know the use of sulfur for each fuel vary. Therefore, to prevent excessive use of fuel sulfur can be used other fuels such as ethanol, hydrogen and methanol.Apabila combustion can be prevented by reducing gas emissions SO2 and Nox by using one of the technologies commonly called lime injection in multiple burners. Can control contamination in case of burning. Namely can use natural ingredients derived from the combustion itself. Can use fle gas desulfurization (FGD) technology or ammonia and waste binder which is useful for fertilizer. Can apply 3R ie Reuse, Recycle and Reduce. This is effective enough to reduce waste and waste. Reduce the use of sulfur before burning. That is by using a particular technology. Reduce the use of sulfur before burning. Namely by using certain technology. Use fuel wisely that is not too excessive. The point is not too much use of fossil fuels.Use public vehicles to travel.Do not cut trees excessively or carelessly and planted with a reforestation system. And make sure use environmentally friendly equipment

    1. Yes, acid rain makes the environment very dangerous, with acid rain polluting water and soil
